The 74HC4040 is a 12-stage (12-bit) asynchronous binary ripple counter with negative edge triggered clock input, an overriding asynchronous master reset input and twelve parallel outputs (Q1 to Q12).
Replacement for legacy National / Fairchild 74HC4040, Motorola MC74HC4040, RCA HARRIS 74HC4040, Texas Instruments SN74HC4040, CD74HC4040. Upgrade replacement for 74HC4024.
